Cohere has released the latest versions of Command R and Command R+ models, which are optimized enterprise-level AI models designed for commercial applications. The new models have made significant improvements in encoding, mathematics, reasoning, and latency, especially in handling retrieval augmentation generation (RAG) and multi-language support.
Compared to the previous Command R version,
command-r-08-2024throughput is increased by approximately 50% and latency is reduced by 20%, while reducing the hardware footprint required for the service model by half. Similarly, compared to the previous Command R+ version, command-r-plus-08-2024throughput is increased by approximately 50% and latency is reduced by 25%, while the hardware footprint remains the same.The new Command R and Command R+ models have been upgraded in the following aspects:

Structured Data Analysis of Command R
- Data analysis: The model's ability to process structured data (such as tabular data) has been enhanced, which is suitable for industries such as finance, SaaS, and consulting, helping companies to better gain insights from data.

- Structured output: Improves the accuracy of generated JSON data, strengthens compliance with instructions, and reduces sensitivity to non-semantic prompt changes.
